Sound Drops are very intimate pieces for me; I’ve made only a few over the years and my process with them is very intuitive.
It starts with a song, that I listen to or think of and then get a little brain tingle. Some words or the general vibe of the song makes me think of colors or textures, which then are evocative of some glass that I know I have. This emotional and sensory experience is very personal and inspiration can strike at any moment.
I remember every one I’ve made and why I made it, why I chose the glass that I did and how I felt when I was making it.
For almost every fundraiser giveaway piece I’ve made, this was my design of choice. I kept one for myself even once, and I almost never keep any work of mine.
Most notably, I have never accepted doing custom orders for this design.
