Ali Yule Cat - Stained Glass Ornaments - Made in Montréal
Size: 6’’ x 3,5’’
Don’t let the Yule Cat get ya!
The Yule Cat, Christmas Cat, or Jólakötturinn, is a giant black cat from Icelandic folklore. Serving as a warning for children to behave themselves, the Yule Cat is said to be the size of a house, eating children who do not receive a new piece of clothing for Christmas.
Our Yule Cat is modeled after the one and only Prince Ali, my senior orange kitty! To emphasize Ali’s features, we painted a closeup of his face, highlighting his crossed eyes, freckled nose and lips, as well as his missing upper left incisor. Ali’s overall cartoon-ish design is reminiscent of a Hellmouth, from haunted houses and carnivals, to make it extra fun and iconic!
These cute ornaments are a lovely collaboration with my apprentice Danielle!

Handle with care, glass is fragile!
Border contains lead, it is best to always wash your hands after handling your piece. Lead is only dangerous when ingested, so don’t lick it and you’ll be fine 😘
Contact me upon delivery if your piece has been damaged in the mail, to discuss options.
